How does the laser on spider vein removal feel?

Most clients experience a little discomfort during the treatment, and might feel a mild tingling sensation.

 

Approximately how many treatments are required?

It is recommended to have between 2 – 8 treatments every 4 weeks. (dependant on each individuals case).

This will depend on the severity of the spider veins. The treatment is not instant.

Most clients achieve over 80% elimination of the targeted spider veins.

 

How long will the spider vein removal last?

This is entirely dependent on each individual and their commitment to completing the recommended course of treatments.

With age and changes in your body, the spider veins may reappear.

 

Is laser removal of spider veins safe?

The process is safe as the laser only targets the veins and does not damage the surrounding skin.

Bruising and swelling may occur, but this will subside shortly after each treatment.

 

What can you expect after your laser treatment?

The veins could look worse after your laser treatment.

You may experience bruising and some cramping in your in your legs for a day or two.

When a vein is closed, a small amount of blood is trapped in the vein, this may cause it to look darker.

It should fade within a few weeks.

 

Is there any downtime after the laser treatment?

Clients can resume their normal activities straight after the treatment.

 

What are the pre-treatment guidelines?

  • If your face is being treated, do not wear any creams, lotions or makeup prior to your appointment.
  • If you are taking any skin medications it is recommended to stop 3 months before starting treatments.
  • If you are using any skincare products with Retina A, stop using them 1 week prior to your treatments.
  • Avoid sun exposure to the areas being treated.
  • Do not have any chemical peels, micro-dermabrasion or laser procedures one week prior to your treatment.

 

What are the post-treatment guidelines?

  • Ice the area with a cold compress for 24 hours to reduce any swelling that might occur.
  • Apply sunscreen to the area.
  • Ensure the area is adequately hydrated with moisturising products.
  • Avoid irritation by reducing wind and sun exposure.
  • Limit your intake of spicy foods. Eat plenty of fruit and vegetables and reduce your intake of fish, beef and lamb.
  • Ensure you get enough sleep.
  • The area must cleaned every day with lukewarm water.
  • Avoid saunas and hot baths.
