The InBody goes beyond traditional body composition analysis. It not only analyses how much fat and muscle you have, but it also measures your Total Body Water and divides it into Intracellular Water and Extracellular Water, values important for understanding a user’s fluid distribution in medical, wellness, or fitness contexts.
What does your scan mean?
The InBody results sheet provides an extensive array of relevant and specific parameters relating to body composition. A full interpretation guide is provided whenever a test is completed. However, a unique feature of InBody is the ability to provide a person’s results in a very simple manner.
Muscle fat analysis table
Simply, locate the muscle fat analysis table on your InBody results sheet. Generally located towards the top part of your results sheet. From this we want to look at what your results mean.
The muscle and fat analysis component of the InBody test is an effective and quick indicator of your scans overall results. It will create a generalised shape which is a good marker to determine your overall body composition balance. The three predominant shapes are C, I and D and form a “Traffic light system”.
So how does this work?
In the examples below, each shape represents a color on the traffic light system and relates to that signal. These have been aligned to the universally accepted reactions of a traffic light systems as follows:
C = Red/STOP – indicates intervention is likely needed.
I = Amber/DECISION TIME – indicates you may question your current methods and intervene if necessary.
D = Green/KEEP GOING – indicates a likely balanced body composition.
The C Shape
