What is the difference in technology between the IPL and the Laser Lux ?

IPL uses full spectrum light (such as light from a lightbulb) and although IPL contains some of the wavelengths of light required to remove hair it also contains other wavelengths that are unnecessary, making IPL diluted and less effective for hair removal.

Light from the Laser Lux is specifically designed for effective hair removal, without exposing you to any unnecessary light radiation from other wavelengths. This makes Laser Lux far more effective than IPL because it is more concentrated.

What is the time intervals between sessions?

Body parts need to be treated every six weeks, but not longer than six weeks, as this will delay quicker results. Facial hair needs to be done every four weeks.

Do you treat men?

Yes we do, but not any intimate parts of men's bodies.

Do you treat all body parts of women?

Yes we do.

Can you perform laser hair removal on ingrown hairs?

Yes

Are there any pre / post treatment requirements?

For effective laser hair removal there are a few prescribed criteria:

  • No waxing, tweezing, bleaching, threading or use of depilatory agents 4 weeks prior to your treatment
  • Shaving or clipping must be done to remove hair prior your treatments.
  • All lotions, creams, makeup and deodorant must be removed prior to your treatment
  • A post laser cream is highly recommended to treat inflammation and any irritation that might occur post treatment. This is available from Blue Bird Lipo Laser Therapy.

Is the Laser Lux FDA approved and what does this mean:

The United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) examines, tests and approved a wide range of items for medical use, including drugs and medical appliances. In the simplest terms, "FDA approval" means that the FDA has decided that the benefits of the approved item outweigh the potential risk for the item's planned use.
