What should you avoid before having a Carbon Laser Treatment performed

  • You must stop any acid-based products such as Glycolic and Salicylic at least two weeks before each treatment
  • Avoid the sun
  • Avoid self tanning products on your face or the area being treated
  • Avoid getting skin treatments at least two weeks prior to your session, these include microdermabrasion and any type of professional or home exfoliation, Botox, Fillers.

 

What should you do after having a Carbon Laser Treatment done

Avoid the following:

  • Exfoliation with scrubs, exfoliants

What can you expect after your Carbon Laser Treatment

You can experience some redness after the treatment.

Your skin will glow and have visibility reduced pore size immediately after your first treatment.

The laser destroys the carbon particles and any oil, dead skin cells, bacteria, or other impurities on your face. The heat from the process also signals a healing response in your skin. This stimulates collagen and elastin production to make your skin look firmer.

 

Does pigmentation go darker before lightening and why

Yes your pigmentation does darken. Active treatments accelerate cell turnover, by pulling pigmented cells to the surface at a faster rate. This increases the concentration of melanin in the epidermis, which can create a temporary darkening of the spots. The darkening means the pigmentation is coming up and is ready to be shed away. This is normal and the pigment naturally sheds off the skin’s surface within 7 – 14 days depending on your skin’s cell turnover.

 

Which treatment is better – Carbon Laser Treatment or Chemical Peel

Both Carbon Laser Treatments and Chemical Peels can give similar results, the main difference is how the results are achieved.
