PRESS0THERAPY

Pressotherapy, also known as lymphatic drainage, is a non-invasive treatment that involves the application of air pressure, alternating between compression and decompression on parts of the body. This can help to stimulate the lymphatic system which helps to clear toxins from the body and stimulate blood circulation.

Pressotherapy reduces water retention and helps the body remove toxins and waste products out of the peripheral tissues (including the cellulite tissues) by boosting both blood circulation and lymphatic drainage in a time-efficient way. The body then naturally expels toxins, excess water and waste products.

Pressotherapy can help prevent serious medical conditions from occurring in the future. For example, long-term swelling and inflammation in the body, which are developed through damage in the muscles and joints.

The lymphatic system protects your body against foreign invaders. The lymphatic system is part of the immune system. It produces and releases lymphocytes (white blood cells) and other immune cells that monitor and then destroy the foreign invaders, such as bacteria, viruses, parasites and fungi that may enter your body.

Too many toxins are a primary factor that can cause your lymphatic system to stop working, while poor diet and overexposure to environmental toxins can overload the lymphatic system. In addition, lack of sleep, dehydration, stress, emotional trauma, infections, and lack of movement can stagnate and sometimes even stop the lymph flow.

The lymphatic system is a critical part of our circulatory and immune system.

Unlike the circulatory system where the heart acts as a pump, the lymphatic system only move one way, up and away from gravity. As the lymph system tries to fight gravity, it becomes clogged.

The lymphatic system has three major functions:

  • Tissue drainage
  • Fat transportation
  • Immune responses

Lymph nodes are located throughout the body, including neck, armpits, groin, around the gut, and between the lungs.
